Alta takes special care of project freight for a hospital in Barrow.

When the freight showed up at Alta in Seattle longer than anticipated, Alta team members went to work to find a way to get the cargo where it needed to go. Truck, steamship and a special charter flight were used to get the job done.

Alta and UAA

Each year, Alta Logistics funds a scholarship at the University of Anchorage for students enrolled in the Global Logistics Management Program at the College of Business and Public Policy, University of Alaska Anchorage.

We believe in the mission of this program to ensure education for logistics professionals entering the work force. Alta is proud to provide financial assistance to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue their goals in the field of logistics.

Position Available: Logistics Coordinator - Location: Seattle.

The Logistics Coordinator will obtain, develop and manage new Freight Forwarding opportunities. The person selected will work with existing and new customers in order to provide Transportation and Logistics solutions. An entrepreneurial spirit, “can do” attitude and quality focus will be required. The individual must be able to have fun at work and demonstrate a willingness to tackle the challenges of a fast growth company. Experience required.

Position Available: Intern - Social Media

The Social Media Intern will help develop and maintain Alta's web site and social media pages. The person or persons selected will work with Alta personnel to provide up-to-date news, events and other web and social media content. A creative spirit, a self motivated ability and a few hours per week are the basic requirements. Possible college credit offered.
